Uses ::

Castor oil is used as a cathartic it is also used for lubrication commercially several other forms of the castor oil like dehydrogenated castor oil (DCO) and hydrogenated castor oil (HC) are used industrially for several other purposes The fatty acids like ricinoleic heptaldehyde and undecenoic acid are the other substances commercially prepared out of castor oil Turkey red oil and soap are other commercial products extensively used in textile industry The castor oil is used in the preparation of paints enamel varnishes grease polishes printing ink hydraulic and brake spirit with little modifications 

        The cathartic property of castor oil is due to irritant action of ricinoleic acid Castor oil is often given orally or as aromatic castor oil or in the form of capsules it is used in abortificient paste and ricinolic acid is used in contraceptive creams and jellies Atropine and cocaine for opthalmic purposes are suspended in castor oil it is also used as an emollient in preparation of lip-stick and as sulphorecinolate in tooth formulation being strong bactericide other cosmetic purpose for which the oil is used include perfumed hair oil and hair fixers

अरंडी के तेल का उपयोग रेचक के रूप में किया जाता है। इसका उपयोग व्यावसायिक रूप से स्नेहन के लिए भी किया जाता है। अरंडी के तेल के कई अन्य रूप जैसे डीहाइड्रोजनीकृत अरंडी का तेल (DCO) और हाइड्रोजनीकृत अरंडी का तेल (HC) का औद्योगिक रूप से कई अन्य उद्देश्यों के लिए उपयोग किया जाता है। रिसिनोलेइक हेप्टाल्डिहाइड और अंडेसेनोइक अम्ल जैसे फैटी एसिड अरंडी के तेल से व्यावसायिक रूप से तैयार किए जाने वाले अन्य पदार्थ हैं। टर्की रेड ऑयल और साबुन अन्य व्यावसायिक उत्पाद हैं जिनका कपड़ा उद्योग में व्यापक रूप से उपयोग किया जाता है। अरंडी के तेल का उपयोग थोड़े से संशोधनों के साथ पेंट, इनेमल वार्निश, ग्रीस पॉलिश, प्रिंटिंग स्याही, हाइड्रोलिक और ब्रेक स्पिरिट बनाने में किया जाता है।

अरंडी के तेल का रेचक गुण इसकी उत्तेजक क्रिया के कारण होता है। रिसिनोलिक एसिड अरंडी का तेल अक्सर मुंह द्वारा या सुगंधित अरंडी के तेल के रूप में या कैप्सूल के रूप में दिया जाता है। इसका उपयोग गर्भपात के पेस्ट में किया जाता है और रिसिनोलिक एसिड का उपयोग गर्भनिरोधक क्रीम और जेली में किया जाता है। नेत्र संबंधी प्रयोजनों के लिए एट्रोपिन और कोकीन अरंडी के तेल में निलंबित होते हैं। इसका उपयोग लिपस्टिक बनाने में एक एमोलिएंट के रूप में और दांतों के निर्माण में सल्फोरेसिनोलेट के रूप में किया जाता है। यह एक मजबूत जीवाणुनाशक है। अन्य कॉस्मेटिक प्रयोजनों के लिए, जिसके लिए तेल का उपयोग किया जाता है, उनमें सुगंधित हेयर ऑयल और हेयर फिक्सर शामिल हैं।
