General Description ::

The plant is propagated by seeds Neem grows in tropical as well as arid regions it may be considered as undemanding plant it grows in nutrient deficient soils it survives high temperatures little rainfall and prolonged periods of drought it grows well at pH 5 and in moist stony clavey or shallow soil The roots can extract nutrients from sandy or highly leached soil The plant bears fruits after 5 years and between may to August The neem tree grows about 8 metres in height yielding about 350 kg foliage in dried form and 35 - 55 kg fruits annually .

यह पौधा बीजों से फैलता है। नीम ट्रॉपिकल और सूखे इलाकों दोनों में उगता है। इसे कम मांग वाला पौधा माना जा सकता है। यह पोषक तत्वों की कमी वाली मिट्टी में उगता है। यह ज़्यादा तापमान, कम बारिश और लंबे समय तक सूखे में भी ज़िंदा रहता है। यह pH 5 पर और नम, पथरीली, चिकनी या कम गहरी मिट्टी में अच्छी तरह उगता है। जड़ें रेतीली या बहुत ज़्यादा पानी सोखने वाली मिट्टी से पोषक तत्व निकाल सकती हैं। यह पौधा 5 साल बाद और मई से अगस्त के बीच फल देता है। नीम का पेड़ लगभग 8 मीटर ऊंचा होता है और सूखे रूप में लगभग 350 kg पत्ते और सालाना 35-55 kg फल देता है।
