These are solutions of drugs that are instilled into the nose with a dropper These are usually aqueous and not oily drops since the latter inhibit the movement of cilia in the nasal mucosa and if used for long periods may reach the lungs and cause lipoid pneumonia .
Nasal drops should be isotonic having neutral pH and viscosity similar to nasal secretions by using methyl cellulose .

नेज़ल ड्रॉप्स आइसोटोनिक होने चाहिए, जिनका pH न्यूट्रल हो और मिथाइल सेलुलोज का इस्तेमाल करके नाक से निकलने वाले सेक्रिशन जैसी विस्कोसिटी हो।
