CLASSIFICATION OF AEROSOLS ::
Aerosols may be classified as ::
1. Space sprays ::
These are finely divided sprays having particle size upto 50 u e.g. Insecticides disinfectants and room deodorizers .
2. Surface coats ::
These are also sprays but disperse particles are coarse with sizes upto 200 u They produce a wet coat when sprayed on a surface e.g. hair sprays personal deodorant powder sprays and topical medicament sprays .
3.Foam ::
These are produced by rapid expansion of propellants through an emulsion Hence the product comes out in the form of a foam or froth e.g. shaving cream and vaginal product .

1. स्पेस स्प्रे ::
ये बारीक बंटे हुए स्प्रे होते हैं जिनके पार्टिकल साइज़ 50 u तक होते हैं, जैसे इंसेक्टिसाइड, डिसइंफेक्टेंट और रूम डियोडोराइज़र।
2. सरफेस कोट ::
ये भी स्प्रे होते हैं लेकिन इनके फैलने वाले पार्टिकल मोटे होते हैं जिनका साइज़ 200 u तक होता है। जब इन्हें किसी सरफेस पर स्प्रे किया जाता है तो ये एक गीली परत बनाते हैं, जैसे हेयर स्प्रे, पर्सनल डियोडोरेंट, पाउडर स्प्रे और टॉपिकल दवा स्प्रे।
3. फोम ::
ये एक इमल्शन के ज़रिए प्रोपेलेंट के तेज़ी से फैलने से बनते हैं, इसलिए प्रोडक्ट फोम या झाग के रूप में निकलता है, जैसे शेविंग क्रीम और वजाइनल प्रोडक्ट।
