काटी गई पत्तियों को शेड के नीचे फर्श पर बिना एक-दूसरे पर चढ़े फैला दिया जाता है। पत्तियों को एक समान सुखाने के लिए उलट-पुलट कर दिया जाता है। सूखने पर पत्तियों का लगभग 50 से 60% भार कम हो जाता है। इस प्रकार प्राप्त पीले-हरे पत्तों की बाज़ार में अच्छी कीमत मिलती है। कुल पीले रंग के पत्तों को निम्न गुणवत्ता का माना जाता है। पत्तियों को फलों और शाखाओं से अलग करने के लिए उछाला जाता है। फलों को भी इसी तरह सुखाया जाता है। पत्तियों को हाइड्रोलिक प्रेस द्वारा तैयार किए गए गट्ठों में पैक किया जाता है और बाज़ार भेजा जाता है या निर्यात किया जाता है।
