BLISTER PACKAGE ::
These consist of a lid and a blister (usually transparent) The bilister package is formed by heat -softening of a sheet of thermoplastic resin and vacuum drawing the softened sheet of plastic into a contoured mould After cooling the sheet is released from the mould The semi- rigid blister formed is filled with product (tablet or capsule ) and lidded with a heat sealable backing material as shown in
The lid material commonly used are aluminium foil and metallised polyester The lid material has to satisfy certain criteria :
1. It should protect the pack material .
2. It acts as a barrier to moisture and atmospheric gases .
3. It must seal to the blister material and retain the medicament within the blister .
4. It should tear easily when blister content is pushed through it
5. It should accept printing to label and identify the product .
The materials used for thermoformable blisters are polyvinyl chloride (PVC) polystyrene polypropylene and combination of PVC and polyethylene The blister material should have the following qualities :
1.It should act as barrier to moisture and atmospheric gases .
2. It should provide adequate protection to the medicament from abrasion .
3. It must soften without shrinking but stay soft without melting .
4. It should be flexible enough to allow removal of the contents .

1. यह पैक मटीरियल को प्रोटेक्ट करे।
2. यह नमी और एटमोस्फेरिक गैसों के लिए एक बैरियर का काम करे।
3. इसे ब्लिस्टर मटीरियल से सील करना चाहिए और दवा को ब्लिस्टर के अंदर बनाए रखना चाहिए।
4. जब ब्लिस्टर कंटेंट को इसमें से धकेला जाए तो यह आसानी से फट जाना चाहिए।
5. इसे लेबल करने और प्रोडक्ट की पहचान करने के लिए प्रिंटिंग एक्सेप्ट करनी चाहिए।
थर्मोफॉर्मेबल ब्लिस्टर के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाले मटीरियल पॉलीविनाइल क्लोराइड (PVC), पॉलीस्टाइरीन, पॉलीप्रोपाइलीन और PVC और पॉलीइथाइलीन का कॉम्बिनेशन हैं। ब्लिस्टर मटीरियल में ये खूबियां होनी चाहिए:
1. यह नमी और हवा में मौजूद गैसों के लिए बैरियर का काम करे।
2. यह दवा को रगड़ से पूरी तरह बचाए।
3. यह बिना सिकुड़े नरम होना चाहिए लेकिन बिना पिघले नरम रहना चाहिए।
4. यह इतना लचीला होना चाहिए कि इसका सामान आसानी से निकल सके।
