Digitalis leaves are adulterated with the following ::

1. The leaves of Verbascum thapsus (Scrophulariaceae) are mixed with genuine drug and can be distinguished microscopically by presence of large woolly branched candelabra trichomes 

2.The primrose leaves ::

The leaves of Primula vulgaris (Primulaceae) are added to digitalis They can be detected microscopically by presence of uniseriate covering trichomes which are 8 to 9 celled long The lateral veins of the leaves of primrose are straight 

3.Comfrey leaves ::

These are the leaves of Symphyfum officinale (Boraginaceae) and can be detected by presence of multicellular trichomes forming hook at the top

प्रतिस्थापन और मिलावट:

डिजिटलिस के पत्तों में निम्नलिखित मिलावट की जाती है:

1. वर्बास्कम थाप्सस (स्क्रॉफुलारियासी) की पत्तियों को असली दवा के साथ मिलाया जाता है और इन्हें बड़े, ऊनी, शाखाओं वाले कैंडेलब्रा ट्राइकोम की उपस्थिति से सूक्ष्मदर्शी से पहचाना जा सकता है।

2. प्रिमरोज़ के पत्ते:

प्रिमुला वल्गेरिस (प्रिमुलसी) की पत्तियों को डिजिटेलिस में मिलाया जाता है। इन्हें 8 से 9 कोशिकाओं वाले एकसमान आवरण वाले ट्राइकोम की उपस्थिति से सूक्ष्मदर्शी से पहचाना जा सकता है। प्रिमरोज़ के पत्तों की पार्श्व शिराएँ सीधी होती हैं।

3. कॉम्फ्रे के पत्ते:

ये सिम्फीफम ऑफिसिनेल (बोराजिनेसी) की पत्तियाँ हैं और इन्हें शीर्ष पर हुक बनाने वाले बहुकोशिकीय ट्राइकोम की उपस्थिति से पहचाना जा सकता है।
