Cultivation and Collection ::
It is found at an altitude of 1000 to 3000 m growing extensively in open lands from Murre hills to kashmir .The plants are cultivated by sowing the seeds in boxes from may onwards The seeds take a long time for germination Seedlings are transferred in the field and placed one metre apart After removing scales and coats the corms which are also used in medicine , are sliced transversely and dried below 65 .C The collection of the seeds is done from capsular fruits Colchicum plants flower in the month of August to October and start bearing the capsular fruits from may to july Capsules are collected before their dehiscence from june to july During ripening the seeds become dark in colour and are separated by shifting from the fruits Seeds are processed and graded accordingly .

खेती और कलेक्शन ::
यह 1000 से 3000 m की ऊंचाई पर पाया जाता है और मुर्रे हिल्स से लेकर कश्मीर तक खुली ज़मीन पर बड़े पैमाने पर उगता है। पौधों की खेती मई से बक्सों में बीज बोकर की जाती है। बीजों को उगने में लंबा समय लगता है। पौधों को खेत में ट्रांसफर किया जाता है और एक मीटर की दूरी पर रखा जाता है। स्केल्स और कोट हटाने के बाद, कॉर्म, जिनका इस्तेमाल दवा में भी होता है, उन्हें आड़ा काटा जाता है और 65 डिग्री सेल्सियस से नीचे सुखाया जाता है। बीजों का कलेक्शन कैप्सूल वाले फलों से किया जाता है। कोलचिकम के पौधे अगस्त से अक्टूबर के महीने में फूलते हैं और मई से जुलाई तक कैप्सूल वाले फल देना शुरू करते हैं। कैप्सूल को जून से जुलाई तक उनके खुलने से पहले इकट्ठा किया जाता है। पकने के दौरान बीज गहरे रंग के हो जाते हैं और फलों से अलग हो जाते हैं। बीजों को प्रोसेस किया जाता है और उसी हिसाब से ग्रेड किया जाता है।
